Xbox 360 sales increase after price cut

360_arcade.jpgAs analysts predicted, a price-cut was indeed what the 360 needed to keep itself in the battle for the title of most successful next generation console.

UK hardware and software tracker, ChartTrack announced that according to their results, Xbox 360 sales have risen by over a third, just days after Microsoft decided to go ahead with a price cut.

ChartTrack director, Dorian Bloch said: “Microsoft will be especially pleased to see that the overall hardware market was down - that’s every format except PS3, which saw a very slight six per cent rise.”

It will be interesting to see if sales numbers will continue to climb, but it is expected they will, with the 360 Arcade’s price now below that of the Nintendo Wii. Microsoft better pray this price cut allows it to keep up with the PS3 and Wii, especially now that Sony is really enjoying its momentum.
