Ubisoft to focus less on hardcore FPS games
According to the French developer First Person Shooters aren’t profitable enough to make them a viable investment.
Video-game designer Phil Therien said, during a LiveText Interview with Eurogamer.net, that Ubisoft would like to please both its FPS fans and casual gamers, but since compromises have to be made and shooters don’t sell very well, they’ll focus less on bloodshed and more on family fun.
That doesn’t mean they’ll give up on the FPS genre completely, we’ll just see less of them that’s all. Not a big surprise considering they’re software for the Nintendo Wii is doing very well, sales wise.
