Top five upcoming games of 2007

Tired of standing around, waiting for this year’s hottest games to finally be released we decided to kill time and debate about the most anticipated game scheduled to come out in 2007. It was getting pretty tense in here, with everybody trying to get their favorite to the number 1 one spot, so in the end, to make everyone happy, we came up with a top 5 based on the number of votes. Here’s how it turned out:

No. 5: Need for Speed ProStreet

Release date: 10/31/2007

The latest addition in EA’a Need for Speed franchise promises to be even better then Underground and Most Wanted and their not just talking about the visuals. It seems they’re trying to make the racing experience as real as possible by paying a lot of attention to the car’s weight transfer when curving, tire temperature in the drag races and a lot of other issues. Tuning enthusiasts are definitely looking forward to this one.

No. 4: Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare

Release date: Quarter 4 2007

Activision’s World War 2 First Person Shooter franchise is making a huge leap through time, and chooses a modern setting for its fourth installment. With incredible graphics and supposedly lightning fast action, Modern Warfare promises to be a worthy adversary for more.

No. 3: Heavenly Sword

Release date: 09/12/2007

Heavenly Sword is definitely one of the most anticipated games for the PS 3, it’s been so from the moment it was first presented at E3 in 2006. Later, the trailer and the gameplay movies boosted gamers’ interest even more. Perceived by many as a new God of War style action game, Heavenly Sword is almost upon us, we’ll just have to wait and see how it turns out.

No. 2: Assassin’s Creed

Release date: November 2007

I for one can’t wait to make the acquaintance of Altair, the skillful assassin that stars in Ubisoft’s upcoming action. Set in the exotic 12th century Jerusalem, during the time of the first crusade and created by the team that brought us the Prince of Persia series, Assassin’s Creed fully deserves to be the first runner up in our top. We will have to wait till fall to see if it truly deserved it.

No. 1: Halo 3

Release date: 09/25/2007

To be honest Master Chief didn’t have a hard time to nail the top spot in our little top. His debut on the Xbox 360 is without a doubt the most eagerly awaited game of this fall. With new co-op mode, new enemies, new weapons and vehicles promises to live up to the franchise’s reputation. The media frenzy definitely played a great part in the hype involving Microsoft Studios’ shooter, but we have to admit it’s probably the most solid FPS out there, and it revolutionized the genre in more than one way. Hat’s off to Halo 3.

Bioshock would have been in here too but we didn’t finish the piece before its launch.

  1. This list is wrong. You forgot about Super Smash Brothers Brawl.

The list would be right if it was Top 5 upcoming games for Xbox360.

  2. @ Tim
You are right, Super Smash Brothers Brawl is the most anticipated game for the Wii, but we considered the others to be more important. Perhaps we were wrong
