THQ announces Red Faction 3

The classic FPS from THQ will start blasting on the PC, Xbox 360 and PS3 for a third time.

The last Red Faction game came out in 2003 and it wasn’t very well received, so I for one was very surprised to see the series resurrected after 5 years. The game wasn’t announced through a press release like it usually happens, but through a series of conference calls, by THQ executives.

There isn’t much available about the game, just that it plans to take full advantage of the new generations consoles’ capabilities and offer gamers a very interactive environment. It will be available for the Xbox 360, PS3 and PC.

Red Faction 3 is scheduled for release sometime during THQ’s next fiscal year, which starts April 2008 and ends in March of next year.
