First of all, for those of you who don’t know anything about Jack Thompson, he’s a lawyer who can’t stand violence in video-games and the fact that Mature rated games are sometimes sold to minors. I know what you’re going to say, you know a lot of people like him, but what makes him special is that he actually sues everybody he has a problem with.
After suing Take Two Interactive, Kotaku and even a Florida bar, he’s now set his sights on Best Buy for allegedly selling M rated games to underage gamers. He has also included the ESRB for reasons such as: “a) is owned and operated by the video game industry, b) does not even play the games it rates to conclusion, c) routinely mislabels games as to age appropriateness, per testimony before the U.S. Congress, and is engaged in representations to American parents that the age label are accurate and are keeping “Mature” games out of the hands of kids.”
Don’t really think these reasons are going to hold out in court so it looks like another lost battle for Thompson.
