Godzilla: Unleashed arrives on the PS2

With the slight disappointment that is the PlayStation 3 system, Sony still cashes in on the yet to be declared defunct PS2. With still a large enough number of consoles sold each month, developers haven’t completely forgotten the old platform and are still releasing titles for it. Such is the case of Godzilla: Unleashed.

Published by Atari, Godzilla: Unleashed will have players take the role of the legendary, Japanese monster Godzilla, as he first causes mayhem through nine different urban areas of the world, before it has to face a real challenge in defending our world against an alien invasion.

The game allows players to influence the way the story unfolds through the decisions they make. The PS2 version includes more monsters than the Wii and Nintendo DS versions, pushing the roster to more than 20 of the world’s most famous monsters.

Three dimensional settings, huge destructible environments and a multiplayer that supports up to 4 players sure sound like ingredients for a PS2 blockbuster. We’ll just have to wait and see.
