As Sony Computer Entertainment America’s flagship title for this fall, Heavenly Sword had a lot of burden to carry and the media didn’t make things any easier for it, constantly augmenting the hype surrounding the title. The question that remains now after the game launched, is: Is it the console seller PS3 needs so badly? Well, yes and no. Let’s see why.

I’ve never really been a fan of Koei’s Dynasty Warriors or Samurai Warriors beat-em up series, I’ve always found them unbelievably boring and totally unappealing. But with this latest Orochi title, I really hoped things would be different…Boy was I wrong!
Basically Warriors Orochi is just more of the same, you taking on infinite numbers of totally harmless enemies, killing some bosses, occasionally escorting a character to the exit point and…well that’s about it. Seriously, if you’re a big fan of the series you’ll love it, if you’re not, don’t get near it.

If you want to experience a war and all you have is a PC, you have to try World in Conflict, it’s as close to a real full scale war as you’re going to get from behind a monitor screen. Sierra and Massive Entertainment really went out of their way to create the best tactical simulation ever, and as far as I’m concerned they’ve succeeded wonderfully.

The Guild Wars series has been, so far, the only serious competition for the social phenomenon known as World of Warcraft. There are even those who would go as far as to say that Guild Wars is even better than the above mentioned MMORPG, and for good reason too, it’s an excellent video game and Eye of the North is another confirmation.

The Total War series are, in this gamer’s opinion, the closest anyone is going to get to a full scale battle in a video game experience. The first time I played Rome: Total War, I was amazed by the game’s complexity, detail and last but not least the easy to use battle controls. Although in order to defeat tough opponents you’d have to come up with a strategy, even for an inexperienced “general” commanding armies was pretty simple and fun. Since then the Total War franchise has improved even more, and the Kingdoms expansion is a fine example of that.

I know this issue has been discussed once too many times, but you know what, I just can’t help it anymore, there are just too many WW2 inspired games out there, and there are still some waiting to come out. This has got to stop people, at least, I don’t know, take a break from all this, I’m sure there are many fans of these games but I think even they’ve had just about enough.

I never truly liked playing Dynasty Warriors, I loved the way it looked but never the gameplay. As for Gundam, I’m just familiar with it, I never watched a single episode, I just know it exists. If you’re like me don’t play this game, really you’ll just lose precious time you could have been spending playing something a lot better.

Capcom has finally released the sequel to one of PSP’s most successful titles, Monster Hunter and I couldn’t wait to sink my teeth into the action. And I can tell you I wasn’t the least bit disappointed. The game offers the same hardcore action as the first title making it a worthy successor to the franchise.

As one of PS 3’s most anticipated games of 2007, LAIR had a lot of impressing to do, and judging from the trailers and the gameplay movies released by the developers, LAIR had it all. But apparently this is just another “don’t judge a book by its cover” situations.

I know it’s not exactly the newest game on the market and there have already hundreds of reviews of Ninja Gaiden Sigma on the web, but I just couldn’t stand the thought of not writing my own opinions about this beautiful creation. So, here we go, Ninja Gaiden Sigma, is it all they say it is?

Bioshock the highly anticipated hybrid first person shooter from 2K Games has finally been released and I think you’ll be very pleased with the way it came out. I for one wasn’t expecting this to be a masterpiece, despite all the hype…boy was I wrong!

I want to begin by saying I’ve only played the Xbox 360 version, so I’ll only be referring to it.
The NASCAR series has never been one of my favorite racing games, I’m simply not a fan of NASCAR, I’m more of a Rally or Formula 1 type of guy, racing around on a big oval shaped circuit just doesn’t fascinate me. But I’ve always appreciated the work EA put into this game, making it one of the most popular racers out there.
