10 years in jail for using Zapper in robbery

Two young men were convicted to 10 years in jail for committing armed robbery using…a NES Zapper.

It all happened back in May, when Arthur Swain, an 18 year old boy, walked in an Ameristop Food Mart around closing time, approached the counter and pulled out a gun, that was later identified as being a NES Zapper. The guy only managed to take $100 from the cash register so you can’t really say it’s worth the hard time.

Swain also had an accomplice in this “high-class” robbery, Jeremy Goins, the 20 year old reportedly acted as a lookout during the heist. Both these “masterminds” were accused of second degree robbery and, this Monday, in Convington, Kentucky, they received the maximum sentence. Assistant Kenton Commonwealth;s Attorney, Leanne Isler, said: “Victims and police did not know the gun was a toy until after it was all over, the defendants could have easily gotten themselves or innocent bystanders shot.”
